Tryouts Information
Tryouts for the Eastern Florida State College Cheerleading team take place annually, or by term as needed. All prospective cheerleaders must be enrolled at or admitted to EFSC (at least 6 credit hours for the Fall and Spring Terms) and maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA. Dual Enrolled students are also eligible to participate. Students must be able to make a full academic-year commitment and attend all assigned games, practices, and activities if selected for the team.
Upcoming Tryouts
Tryouts have concluded for the Fall season. Tryouts may be held in the Spring for specific positions. More information will be available on the EFSC Cheerleading Instagram.
General Information
Tryouts are closed, so friends and family are not permitted to stay and watch.
Please wear athletic/cheer practice attire (women: form-fitted top/sports bra and form-fitted shorts; men: gym shorts and a T-shirt; all: cheer or athletic shoes) with collegiate hair and makeup. Jewelry is not permitted.
To participate in tryouts, you must bring the following:
- Completed forms (Tryout Application and Sports Waiver)
- A copy of your current class schedule
- A copy of your medical insurance card (front and back)
- $10 tryout fee, check or cash (checks can be made payable to EFSC Foundation)
The following skills will be evaluated:
- Cheer (taught at tryouts)
- Dance (taught at tryouts)
- Your best standing tumbling skill
- Your best running tumbling skill
- Jumps: Toe-touch, hurdler, and double-toe
- Two-stunting positions (flying, main base, side base, backspot)
Selection Process
If you are selected for the team, the coaches will contact you with more information about the next steps and required paperwork. All cheerleaders must turn in a completed physical form prior to the first practice.
