
Women's golf team places third at UNG Bracket Challenge
The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team finished third at the UNG Bracket Challenge Tuesday in Homer, Georgia.
The Titans tied Columbus State College 2.5-2.5 as Mila Tang shot a 77 and Emma Parker shot an 81 to pick up wins in their matches. Ann Burel tied her match, shooting an 82. Brittany Odic shot an 80 and Jenna Barnett had an 83 in their matches.
Eastern Florida State College won the match based on the tiebreaker to finish third in the challenge.
"It was a tough day, 46 degrees at tee off and winds 10-15 miles per hour," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "It was a good event to build from as the course was a good test for the ladies."
Lander won the event, beating host University of North Georgia in the final.
Eastern Florida State College will compete in the NJCAA Division I Women's Southeast District Championship on Monday and Tuesday at Duran Golf Club in Viera. It is the fourth time that the Titans have hosted the Southeast District Championship.
