Women's volleyball team picks up conference road win
The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team defeated Polk State College on Monday night in a Citrus Conference road match.
The Titans improved to 6-5 in the conference and 15-9 overall with the four set victory. Eastern Florida State College went up 2-0, winning 25-16 and 25-18 before losing a lead in the third set and falling 25-22. The Titans bounced back in the fourth set, winning 25-13 to pick up the win.
For the second straight match Dominae Jordan led the Titans attack with 15 kills while Cherlialix Carmona and Lesmary Raffucci each had 11 and Libby Ashline finished with 10.
Sarah Henault had 23 digs and Sophia Iglesias had a season-high 41 assists in the match.
Eastern Florida State, who is ranked 16th in the latest NJCAA Division I poll, will finish the regular season on Saturday afternoon at Santa Fe College. The Titans have wrapped up a spot in the FCSAA Division I Volleyball Championships Nov. 1-2 at Florida Southwestern State College.
