The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team fell to Florida Southwestern State College in a Citrus Conference match at Titan Field House Monday night.
The No. 13 ranked Titans fell to 4-4 in the conference with the 25-20, 25-21, 25-18 to the second-ranked Bucs.
Down 7-1 early, Eastern Florida State College came back behind strong serving from Aliah Snider and a big kill from Libby Ashline made it 13-16. The Titans found themselves seven, 22-15 before going on a four-point run to cut it to 22-19. But that would be as close as they would get in the first set, falling 25-20.
The second set was close throughout the first half as the teams were tied multiple times before Florida Southwestern went on a 3-0 run to take a 16-13 lead. Ashline had an ace and eventually tied things 16-16. Down the stretch, the Bucs came up with the big points to win the second set 25-21.
After a quick start by the Titans, Florida Southwestern went on a run and held the lead throughout the final set.
Dominae Jordan finished with 10 kills and six digs as the sophomore has now recorded 10 kills or more in six straight matches. Libby Ashline had 11 kills and a couple of aces in the match.
Eastern Florida State College will host Daytona State College in a key conference match Wednesday night at 6 p.m. at Titan Field House.
