
Men's golf team third in Alabama invitational
The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team finished third at the Coastal Alabama North Spring Invitational Tuesday in Brewton, Alabama.
The Titans shot a 300 in the final round and finished the tournament with a 593. Central Alabama Community College won the event with Jefferson State Community College second in the event.
Micke Laurelli placed second overall after shooting 3-under 69 for the second straight round at the Country Club of Brewton. Laurelli started the round with three straight birdies and finished the front nine with a 33. For the second straight day Laurelli shot even par on the back nine for a 69.
Horace Pennix tied for 18th overall after shooting a 78 in the final round. Teammate Hugo Griesheimer tied for 24th shooting 4-over 76 for the second straight round. Danny Byers shot a 6-over and finished 31st while Masen McKain shot 5-over to finish 35th overall.
Central Alabama's Jackson Spybey shot 4-under in the final round and won the individual title at 11-under for the tournament.
Eastern Florida State College will compete in the Glenlakes Invitational March 10-11.
