
Men's golf team places third at Glenlakes Invitational
The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team placed third at the Glenlakes Invitational Tuesday in Foley, Alabama.
The Titans shot their best round of the tournament, firing a 3-over 291 to finish in third behind champion Central Alabama Community College and Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Sophomore Masen McKain shot even par in the final round and finished sixth overall in the tournament. McKain had another eagle, this time on No. 8. He had an eagle in each of the three rounds in the tournament.
Micke Laurelli shot a 3-under 69 in the final round and placed 15th overall. Laurelli shot even par on the front nine and then had birdies on 10, 11, 14 and 15 to shoot 33 on the back nine.
Hugo Griesheimer finished 13th overall after shooting a 75 on Tuesday. Teammate Danny Byers also shot a 75 and placed 23rd while Horace Pennix had a 78.
Central Alabama Community College's Jackson Spybey won the tournament, shooting 10-under over the three rounds.
Eastern Florida State College will play at the Battle at the Shores event in Miami on March 31-April 1.
