Men's cross country team sixth at UNF Challenge
The Eastern Florida State College men's cross country team placed sixth overall at the UNF Cross Country Challenge Friday evening in Jacksonville.
Host University of North Florida won the event as they would finish 1-2-3 individually at a wet UNF Hayt Golf Complex.
The Titans, who are ranked 14th in the NJCAA Division I Cross Country poll, were led by Olmar Bartolon who finished 38th overall in a time of 17 minutes, 6.6 seconds and Wyatt Pittman was right behind him, placing 40th with a time of 17:06.9. Teammate Nick Hernandez finished 45th at 17:17.2 while Morgan Vici ran the course in 17:36.8 to finish 54th.
Joey Coyle finished in 17:44.8 while Noah McMann ran a 17:57 and Miguel Perez-Santiz finished in 18:05. Joshua Torres finished in 18:13, Ivan Floresta had an 18:24.4 and Toby Grissom crossed the finish line in 20:45.3.
The University of Tampa was second with Flagler third and Florida Atlantic placed fourth overall in the event.
Eastern Florida State College will compete at the Florida Gateway College Open on Friday, September 27.
