Men's basketball team picks up win at Bobcat Classic
The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team finished up the Bobcat Classic with a win on Saturday in Swainsboro, Georgia.
The Titans picked up a win over East Georgia State College 67-57 to go 1-1 over the weekend.
Sophomore Emondrek Erkins-Ford scored six of the team's first 10 points as Eastern Florida State College led the entire game. East Georgia State cut the lead to three midway through the first half but the Titans went on an 14-0 run to pull away and went to the locker room leading 29-19.
The second half saw the host Bobcats cut right into the lead but a couple of big 3-pointers by Felipe Patino kept the Titans out front.
Down the stretch Fredy-Salam Sylla and Chandler Watts had some big baskets as East Georgia State tried to get back into the contest.
Eastern Florida State College, who are now 8-2 and ranked 10th in the NJCAA Division I National poll, will have two games at South Georgia State College next weekend, playing Albany Tech and host South Georgia State College on Friday and Saturday respectively.
