Patino, Erkins-Ford lead men's basketball team to victory
The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team picked up a win on the road Saturday afternoon.
The No. 8 ranked Titans defeated Gordon State College 87-66 in Georgia to improve to 7-1 on the season.
Eastern Florida State College jumped out to a 14-3 lead on Felipe Patino's second 3-pointer of the game five minutes into the contest. The lead would reach as much as 23 points in the first half as the Titans dominated the Highlanders.
The Titans would head to the locker room leading 44-27 as Patino had 15 points and Emondrek Erkins-Ford had 13 at halftime.
The second half saw Gordon State hit some shots and pressure the Titans more, cutting it to 13 midway through the second half. But Eastern Florida State College hit 10 straight free throws down the stretch to pick up the victory.
Patino finished with eight 3-pointers and scored a game-high 30 points which is his best performance at EFSC. Erkins-Ford scored 17 points in the win.
Eastern Florida State College will be back in Georgia Friday to play in the Bobcat Classic at East Georgia State College. The Titans will play South Georgia State College on Friday and then the host East Georgia State College on Saturday.
