Women's basketball team beats Santa Fe Saturday at home

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team led from the tipoff Saturday afternoon, picking up a Citrus Conference win at Titan Field House.
The 23rd ranked Titans scored the first five points and went on to defeat Santa Fe College 81-58 to improve to 7-2 in the conference and 15-5 overall.
Eastern Florida State College took a 15-3 lead in the first quarter behind the duo of Karen Nimo and Amanda Baumgarte who combined for 11 of the team's 15 points in the quarter. Santa Fe would score the final five points to cut into the Titans lead.
The lead would be extended to 19 points by halftime as the Titans scored 25 points in the second quarter.
An 8-0 run to start the third quarter gave the Titans a 27-point lead and they went on to post their 38th straight win at Titan Field House.
Nimo finished with 20 points in the game, marking the sixth time this season the freshman has scored at least 20 points. Baumgarte and E'Zaria Adams each scored 12 points while Jalei O'Neal finished with 10 points.
Madyson Burney finished with 13 points for Santa Fe who fell to 3-5 in the conference.
Eastern Florida State College will be at home for the third straight game on Saturday, hosting Daytona State College at 2 p.m. for a conference game. Admission is free to games at Titan Field House and fans can watch the game live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
