The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team rolled into the Southeast District Championship Final with a victory on Friday afternoon.
On a rainy afternoon at Orlando Health Stadium, the Titans scored seven times to defeat Southern Union 7-1 to advance to the final Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. for a spot in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament.
The action started early as Liam Kuemmitz found Stephen Gilbert nine minutes and 54 seconds into the contest. It was the first of three goals for Gilbert who recorded his first collegiate hat trick in the win.
Gilbert made a nice pass to Adrian Adrian who made it 2-0 less than a minute later.
Southern Union would respond on the kickoff as Jubal Lebron scored to make it 2-1.
Daiki Okada made it 3-1 just three-plus minutes later on an assist from Adrian. Adrian would then score a couple minutes later and just 18 minutes into the game it was 4-1.
Stephen Gilbert opened the scoring in the second half with his second of the game on an assist by Takuma Kiuchi. Gilbert finished the hat trick in the 73rd minute.
Rhys Shirley rounded out the scoring on a penalty kick in the 78th minute to make it 7-1.
The Titans outshot Southern Union 23-2 in the contest.
