
Women's cross country team places ninth at UNF event
The Eastern Florida State College women's cross country team finished in ninth place overall at the UNF Cross Country Challenge Friday.
The University of North Florida won the title as Smilla Kolbe won the individual title in 18 minutes, 37.9 seconds at the UNF Hayt Golf Complex.
Titans sophomore Amelia Shephard finished 53rd overall with a time of 21:42.7 while Rori Pandolfini was 55th in 21:49.1. Marlie Gonzalez was 83rd overall in 24:16.4 while teammate Trinity Trett finished 85th in 24:21.5 and Isabella Narvaez finished in 24:33.2 to place 87th. Maddison Lusk placed 89th with a time of 24:46.8 and Abigail Derisme finished in 26:57.5 in the race.
Florida Atlantic was second with the University of Tampa rounded out the top three.
Eastern Florida State College, who are ranked 22nd in the NJCAA Division I national poll, will run at the Florida Gateway College Open on September 27.
