
Women's basketball team hits road for conference game Wednesday
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will wrap up the first round of conference play Wednesday evening on the road.
The Titans, who are 4-1 in the Citrus Conference, will travel to Santa Fe College to play the Saints at 5:30 p.m. Santa Fe comes into the contest 3-2 in the conference after beating Hillsborough Community College on Monday.
Eastern Florida State College has won three straight conference games and are coming off a 75-40 victory over St. Petersburg College. Karen Nimo is averaging 13.4 points per game for the Titans while Jalei O'Neal is averaging 11.7 and has scored at least 10 points in seven of the past nine games. O'Neal had 19 points in the win over St. Petersburg College and is averaging 13.8 points in the five conference games.
The Saints are led by the duo of Micah Hannah and Yanija Lawson who are averaging 12.3 and 11.2 points per game respectively. Both have stepped up their games in conference action as Hannah is averaging 16 points and Lawson is averaging 14 in the five conference games.
Wednesday night's game will be the final game before the Christmas break. After Christmas, the Titans will travel to Georgia to play in the South Georgia Tech Holiday Classic beginning Dec. 29.
