Men's golf team places third at Coastal Alabama Invitational
The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team finished third in the Coastal Alabama Invitational on Tuesday at the Lakewood-Azalea course in Point Clear, Alabama.
The Titans tied with Jefferson State Community College at 592 for the two rounds. Central Alabama won the tournament, shooting a 291 in the final round to finish at 583.
Eastern Florida State College's Matt Gauntlett finished second overall, shooting a 70 in the final round to finish at 143. Teammate John Houchin finished tied for third at even par.
"Good round by Matt and John hung in there well after a bumpy middle of his round," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "We need to play better as a team, without balance from all four scores it is a struggle."
Brandon Boncore finished 24th at 7-over while Drew Lanier and Robert Greninger tied for 35th overall.
The Titans will play in the Florida Tech Panther Invitational on March 6-8.
