Eastern Florida State College pitcher Michael Benedict was named the FCSAA Division I Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.
The sophomore from Port St. Lucie had his best start of the season Saturday against Daytona State College, tossing six shutout innings in a 9-1 victory.
Benedict struck out five of the first hitters he faced on his way to 10 strikeouts and allowed just three hits in the game.
