
Men's golf team in fifth place at McDonough Cup
The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team is in fifth place after two rounds at the McDonough Cup at Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando.
The Titans shot a 293 in the first round but bounced back, shooting one of the best rounds in the second round, a 284 to be 1-over par heading into the final round on Tuesday.
Eastern Florida State College's John Houchin shot a 67 in the second round and is tied for fourth overall at 3-under. Teammates Robert Greninger and Ryan McMillan are tied for 15th overall at even par. Greninger shot 72 in both rounds while McMillan shot a 71 and 73. Matt Gauntlett rebounded from a slow start to shoot even par in the second round and is tied for 39th. Drew Lanier is also tied for 39th at 5-over par.
Nova Southeastern is leading the tournament after rounds of 278 and 283 on Monday. Nova Southeastern's Javier Calles shot a 65 in the first round and is 7-under for the tournament.
Indianapolis is in second place with Mount Olive in third and Flagler College two strokes ahead of the Titans.
