Women's golf team opens spring season Monday

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team will open the spring season at the Kinderlou Forest Invitational in Valdosta, Georgia.

The Titans, who begin the season ranked fifth in the national poll, will be one of eight teams competing in the tournament beginning Monday. The tournament will host some of the top NAIA teams in the nation as No. 3 SCAD Savannah, No. 5 Dalton State College and No. 12 Southeastern University are among the teams will be competing.

Eastern Florida State College is led by a trio of sophomores who are back from last year's team that finished eighth in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament. Jenna Barnett, Brittany Odic and Emma Parker all competed in the national tournament last season. Barnett was the medalist at the Mustang Invitational in the Fall and

Freshman Ann Burel had two top-five finishes in the Fall season and is one of three freshmen rounding out this year's squad.

The Kinderlou Forest Invitational will be the first of four tournaments this spring for the Titans.
