
Avery Velazquez named FCSAA Division I Softball Player of Week
Eastern Florida State College softball player Avery Velazquez was named the FCSAA Player of the Week for the second straight week.
The freshman from Ocoee, Florida once again led the Titans, hitting .667 with five runs scored and eight RBI in four games last week. The designated player went 10-for-15 and had three hits in three of the four games.
It is the second straight week Velazquez has been named the player of the week and the third time this season. She has also been the pitcher of the week once this season.
For the season, Velazquez is hitting .466 in 32 games with 14 doubles, four home runs and 38 RBI. She has also stolen five bases.
Eastern Florida State College will host a Citrus Conference doubleheader Tuesday against Polk State College beginning at 4 p.m. Admission is free and you can watch the games live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
