
EFSC softball team hits road for conference doubleheader
The Eastern Florida State College softball team will be back on the field Saturday, travelling to St Petersburg for a conference doubleheader.
The 18th ranked Titans will try to get back on track after falling to Daytona State College on Tuesday. Eastern Florida State College is going for its 20th win on Saturday when they play St. Petersburg College beginning at 1 p.m. The Titans, who are 4-4 in the Citrus Conference and are 19-7 overall.
St. Petersburg are looking for their first conference win on Saturday as they begin the conference season 0-6 and are 12-14 on the season.
Alyssa Filmer comes into the doubleheader hitting .416 with four doubles and four triples while teammate Ella Carroll is hitting .392 with four home runs and has driven in 32 runs.
Eastern Florida State College's Avery Velazquez comes into Saturday 12-3 with a 1.16 ERA and is hitting .425 with nine doubles and three home runs and 24 RBI while Ashley Grieser is hitting .387 this season.
It is the start of four conference games on the road as the Titans will return to Titan Softball Complex Saturday, March 15 against Hillsborough Community College.
