Softball team home for doubleheader on Thursday

The Eastern Florida State College softball team will be back at Titan Softball Complex Thursday afternoon for a doubleheader.

The Titans, who look to get back on track after getting swept on Tuesday, will host Florida Gateway College beginning at 1 p.m.

Eastern Florida State College is 2-0 this season against Florida Gateway, coming back to win the second game 13-9. Florida Gateway comes into the doubleheader 6-10 on the season.

Freshman Avery Velazquez is the FCSAA Player of the Week after hitting .750 last week and comes into the doubleheader hitting .475 in 14 games with seven doubles and a couple of home runs. Teammate Ashley Grieser is hitting .514 in 14 games.

The Titans, who are 11-3 this season, are hitting .384 as a team this season.
