Softball team home Tuesday for doubleheader
The Eastern Florida State College softball team is off to another strong start heading into the first busy week of games.
The Titans, who are 5-1 on the season, are coming off a record-setting offensive display last week by scoring 25 runs in the second game of a doubleheader sweep.
Eastern Florida State College will play six games this week beginning Tuesday when they host St. Johns River State College in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. St. Johns River defeated the Titans at the JUCO Kickoff two weeks ago, handing the Titans their lone loss of the season.
The first meeting was a back and forth game that St. Johns River won with a big seventh inning, 12-8.
On Thursday the softball team will hit the road to play a doubleheader against Florida Gateway College before wrapping up the week on Saturday against South Florida State College.
Saturday's doubleheader at Titan Softball Complex will begin at 1 p.m.
Offensively, Ashley Grieser and Jessica Camacho are both hitting .600 after six games and Camacho leads the team with eight RBI while Grieser has scored nine times. On the mound, Avery Velazquez is 3-0 with a 1.07 ERA in four appearances.
Fans can attend games at Titan Softball Complex for free and Tuesday's games will be broadcast live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
