Men's soccer team travels to Miami for Region 8 Championship

The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team will play for the Region 8 Tournament Championship Sunday evening on the road.

The No. 8 Titans will travel to Miami to play Miami Dade College at 6 p.m. at the new stadium. Miami Dade has won the first two meetings this season as the Titans look to defend the Region 8 title.

Eastern Florida State College defeated No. 13 Daytona State College 2-1 in the semifinals on Friday night at Dayton State College as the Titans fell behind 1-0 in the first half before the Titans responded with two goals in the second half including the game winner by Marcellus McCoy.

Miami Dade College is ranked fifth in the national poll and is coming off a loss to Daytona State College but was the regular season champion, giving them home field for the title game.

The Sharks are led by Edoardo Duchini who has scored 12 goals this season while Facundo Ochoa has nine goals and five assists.
