Women's cross country team to compete at UNF event
The Eastern Florida State College women's cross country team will compete in the UNF 5K Cross Country Challenge on Friday at the UNF Hayt Golf Complex.
The women's team will start the race at 6:30 p.m. The Titans placed sixth in the season opener last Friday at Florida Southern.
"This will be a nice chance for them to see how they stack up against some other junior college teams," Eastern Florida State College women's cross country coach Doug Butler said. "I had six girls have a great workout yesterday, I will have seven ready to go so it will be exciting to see where we are."
Sophomore Amelia Shephard ran her best time in the opener, finishing in 17 minutes and nine seconds, while freshman Rori Pandolfini finished in 17:48.
The course is at the UNF Hayt Golf Complex and will be two loops around it for the 5K race.
