Women's cross country announces 2024 season
The Eastern Florida State College women's cross country team has announced the fall schedule for the 2024 season.
The women's program will have four regular season races before the FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Championship in Tallahassee on Oct. 25.
The team will open the regular season on Friday, September 6 with the Mocs XC Kick-Off hosted by Florida Southern. The Titans will compete in two more events in September, the 13th at the North Florida Invitational and then the Florida Gateway College Open on the 27th.
Eastern Florida State College will go to Tallahassee for the Florida State XC Invite on October 11 to wrap up the regular season.
"We have eight ladies this year which is more than the first two years. We lost our top runner Rachel Starr to graduation but our depth is better this season," Eastern Florida State College women's cross country coach Doug Butler said. "Amelia (Shephard) and Rori (Pandolfini) will push Marlie Gonzalez and Bella Narvaez up front, we just need Trinity (Trett) and Maddie (Lusk) to join them in that pack and we will be solid. Sierra (Koehler) returns and will push that group as well."
The women's team will look to win their third straight Region 8 title on Oct. 25 and the NJCAA Division I National Championships will be held Saturday, November 9 in Richmond, Virginia. The NJCAA Half Marathon Championships will be held Nov. 12 at Dorey Park in Richmond, Virginia.
