
Softball team moves up to No. 18 in national poll
The Eastern Florida State College softball team moved up in the NJCAA Division I National poll released on Monday.
The Titans, who are now 19-5 overall and 4-2 in the Citrus Conference, are ranked No. 18 in the nation.
Florida Southwestern State College takes over as the No. 1 team in the nation with Northwest Florida State College No. 2 and Indian River State College third in the poll. McLennan Community College is No. 4 with Grayson College fifth.
Miami Dade is No. 7 in the poll with Seminole State College ninth as five FCSAA teams are in the top 10 nationally. Daytona State College is 13th with Chipola College 23rd and the College of Central Florida is 24th as nine teams from the state of Florida are in the top 25.
The softball team will be home Tuesday evening for a conference doubleheader against No. 13 Daytona State College at Titan Softball Complex. Game 1 of the doubleheader will begin at 4 p.m. and admission is free to games on the Melbourne campus.
