Men's soccer team hosts Miami Dade in key conference game Saturday afternoon
The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team will host Miami Dade College in a big conference game Saturday afternoon at Orlando Health Stadium on the Melbourne campus.
The game was scheduled for Tuesday night but weather forced it to be moved to Saturday at 1 p.m. as part of a big day of soccer. It is not only a key conference matchup, it is also a battle of two of the top teams in the nation as the Titans come into the matchup No. 8 in the latest NJCAA Division I poll and are 8-1-2. Miami Dade College is No. 7 in the poll and is 8-0-2 this season.
The Titans lost the first meeting with the Sharks in Miami and will look to even the series as Eastern Florida State College is now 0-1-1 in the conference and needs a win to keep their conference title hopes alive.
The Sharks scored twice in the second half in the first meeting as Eduardo Duchini and Facundo Ochoa both found the back of the net in a 2-0 win. It was Duchini's 10th goal of the season while Ochoa now has eight this season as Miami Dade has scored 40 this season.
Eastern Florida State College has scored 42 times this season as both teams are in the top 10 in the nation in goals scored. Mukisa Emmanuel leads the Titans with seven goals while Adrian Adrian has six and Joao Loureiro has five. Luc Achermann-Stanfield leads the country in assists with 13.
The game will begin at 1 p.m. and admission is free to Orlando Health Stadium. You can also watch the game live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
