Women's golf team tees off Monday morning at national tournament

Women's golf team tees off Monday morning at national tournament

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team will tee off Monday morning in the first round of the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament.

The Titans are making their first appearance in the national tournament and will tee off at 8 a.m. Monday on No. 10 of the Mayfair Country Club in Sanford.

Sophomore Kira Shellman will be the first Titan to tee off followed by Savannah Hawthorne, Delia Timpy, Gabrielle Fernandez and Morela Boyd.

The Titans will play with Daytona State College and Western Texas Community College in the first round of the tournament.

Eastern Florida State College has played at Mayfair Country Club during the regular season and played well at the 5,941-yard par 72 course. 15 teams will tee off in the first round on Monday for the four-day tournament.

Admission to the tournament is free for spectators.
