Women's golf team finishes well at World Golf Invitational
The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team finished well in tough conditions at the World Golf Invitational at the Slammer and Squire in St. Augustine.
The Titans finished 18th in the tournament filled with NCAA Division II teams after shooting a 328 in the final round for a 661 in the tournament.
Morela Boyd finished her first tournament as a member of the Titans by shooting a 78 in the final round and finished with a 164. Teammates Delia Timpy and Gabrielle Fernandez each finished at 167 and Olivia Timpy shot an 82 for a 170 while Jasmine Yang also had an 82 to finish at 174 in the tournament.
"Maybe as tough a day as we have seen condition wise, 47 degrees and rain for the first 15 holes. Proud of the way the team hung in there," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Nice comeback rounds by Morela, Olivia and jasmine."
The Titans will be back in action Feb. 20 and 21 at the Kinderlou Forest Invitational in Valdosta, Georgia.
