Men's tennis team opens season with a win

Men's tennis team opens season with a win

The Eastern Florida State College men's tennis team opened the spring season Monday with a victory at Titan Tennis Center.

The men's team posted a 7-2 win against Gustavas Adolphus College.

The duo of Ramiro Rincon and Bernardo Viera teamed up to post a win at No. 2 doubles, 8-2 and Jaewoo Choi teamed up with George Myers Millington picked up a 8-7(5) win at No. 3 doubles to take a 2-1 lead heading into singles competition.

The Titans won five of the six singles matches to take the win.

Ramiro Rincon had one of the best matches of the day as the freshman from Argentina won the first set 6-4, battled back after falling behind in the second set, but dropped the set 7-5 forcing a third set tiebreaker. Rincon posted the 10-4 win in the tiebreaker.

Lucas Gonzalez, Santino Morel Reider, Lluc Pasqual Camps and Corentin Venot all won in straight sets for the Titans.

The men's tennis team will travel to Flagler College on Friday for a 2 p.m. match and then be back at Titan Tennis Center Feb. 5 against Atlantis University.
