
Women's soccer team hosts Daytona State Monday for regular season title
The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team will host Daytona State College Monday night with the regular season conference title up for grabs.
Both the No. 17 ranked Titans and the No. 11 Falcons come into the game 4-1 in the conference and Monday night will decide who will be the No. 1 seed at the Region 8 Tournament at 7 p.m. at Orlando Health Stadium.
Eastern Florida State College has won three straight games and is coming off a 2-0 victory against Miami Dade College on Friday. Lili Baidoe scored her 11th goal of the season in the contest and has scored at least once in each of the past three games. The Liverpool, England native has scored three times in conference games.
Meanwhile Daytona State College has won six straight games and has allowed just one goal during the winning streak. The Falcons are coming off a 6-0 victory against Polk State College as Valeria Vasquez had two goals and Shaneil Buckley had a goal and two assists in the win. Vasquez has 17 goals this season while Buckley has scored 12 goals and has five assists.
The Titans won the first meeting between the two teams 2-0 as Tiggi Gent scored twice on assists by Baidoe. Gent comes into the matchup with eight goals and seven assists this season.
