Women's soccer team falls short at Miami Dade

The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team fell short in a conference game on the road Friday evening.

The ninth-ranked Titans fell 3-2 to Miami Dade and are now 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the conference.

Miami Dade College got on the board first as Julia Gurgel scored in the first 15 minutes of the contest. The lead did not last long as the Titans would even things 10 minutes later.

Aimee Longhurst takes a shot that goes off the crossbar and out, Tiggi Gent is there to head the ball into the back of the net.

It would stay 1-1 at halftime.

Miami Dade takes the lead once again early in the second half but once again it did not last as this time Gent found Phoebe Wilson who finished to tie things 2-2.

But Gurgel would score the game winner in the 66th minute.

Eastern Florida State College will host Monroe Community College at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Admission to Orlando Health Stadium is free.
