Women's golf team wins Mustang Invitational

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team won the Mustang Invitational Tuesday at Goose Pond Plantation in Scottsboro, Alabama.

The Titans shot 3-under par 285 in the final round to finish the two rounds at 17-under and win their first title of the Fall season.

Sophomore Jenna Barnett was the medalist, firing a 4-under 68 in the final round to finish the tournament 6-under. Teammate Brittany Odic shot 1-under par 71 and tied with Ann Burel and Shelton State's Sawyer Hobbs for second place.

Burel shot 1-over par 73 on Tuesday.

Mila Tang finished fifth overall at 3-under for the tournament after also shooting a 73 on Tuesday. Cayden Challacombe shot a 73 to finish seventh overall.

"Awesome job by the team this week, today was a good test for all and they played through the struggles well," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said.

Shelton State finished second with Southern Union third and Wallace State was fourth in the tournament.

Eastern Florida State College will compete in the Flagler Fall Invitational Oct. 21-22.
