Men's basketball team hosts Daytona State in key conference game Saturday

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team hosts Daytona State College in a battle of the top two teams in the Central Conference on Saturday afternoon.

The Titans come into the matchup two games behind Daytona State College in the Central Conference and the two teams have split the first two meetings this season.

Eastern Florida State College is 19-8 overall and 9-3 in the conference and are coming off their second conference loss by two points or less.

Meanwhile Daytona State College comes into the matchup ranked 11th in the NJCAA Division I National Poll and on a nine-game win streak. The Falcons are 11-1 in the conference.

Sophomore forward Andres Burney has scored at least 12 points in 24 of the 26 games he has played in this season. The Brundidge, Alabama native is coming off a season-high 35 points where he also had 17 rebounds. He has recorded 13 double-doubles this season including two in a row. For the season, Burney is averaging 17.5 points and 10 rebounds.

Daytona State College has six players averaging at least 10 points per game this season. Jacob Crews is leading the Falcons, averaging 19.7 points per game and has scored 20-plus points in 13 of his 26 games this season including two 30-point performances.
