Men's basketball team tops FSC-Jacksonville

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team picked up a close conference win against the Florida State College at Jacksonville Saturday afternoon.

Leading 75-72 with seven seconds left, freshman Christyon Eugene stole a pass and was fouled to help the Titans win their seventh straight game.

The Titans came out shooting and had a double-digit lead for much of the first half, shooting 5-of-11 from 3-point line in the half but a 10-0 run helped FSC-Jacksonville head to the locker room down three, 39-36.

The second half was close throughout with the Titans knocking down free throws down the stretch to secure the win.

Five Titans finished in double digits as Eugene finished with a team-high 15 points. Vlad Salaridze scored a season-high 14 points while Brody Boyer and Ja'Darius Harris each had 13. Nick Alves finished with 10 points, four assists and four rebounds for the Titans. 

Eastern Florida State College improved to 8-2 overall and 6-0 in the Central Conference. The Titans will host St. Petersburg College in a conference matchup Wednesday at 7 p.m.
