Men's basketball team wins conference opener on the road

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team opened the Central Conference season with a 67-56 win on the road.

Eastern Florida State College got off to a fast start as Brody Boyer hit two 3-pointers early and the Titans would lead 17-4 in the first nine minutes of the contest.

St. Petersburg would finish the first half with a 7-0 run to cut the halftime lead to eight, 33-25. They would come out in the second half with the same momentum, hitting two 3-pointers and tied the game in the first three minutes of the second half.

It would remain tight for the first 10 minutes of the second half, but tied 46-46 with nine minutes remaining EFSC went on an 8-0 run.

Vlad Salaridze hit a big 3-pointer during the run and would add another one with 4:13 remaining to give EFSC a 10-point lead once again.

Christyon Eugene led the Titans attack with 17 points while Salaridze finished with 13 points and nine rebounds. Boyer finished with 10 points.

The Titans, now 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference, will hit the road on Monday night for a conference game at Santa Fe Community College for a 6 p.m. game.
